EMAS DBA student and head of our partner University in Cameroon Fotabe Elmine was awarded the “Entrepreneurial woman of the year” by AB Afrikpreneur Awards 2020. It is a prestigious annual award in the field of entrepreneurship in Africa.
“As an Entrepreneur in this country during these turbulent times, doing things for the right reasons has proven to be valuable.
I founded the Fotabe University of Cameroon because I firmly believe that education is the bridge that connects people of all social classes and makes it possible for them to sit on the same table and find solutions to common problems. I am a firm believer in the power of education to foster peace, social justice, and the economic development of this country. This is why we keep innovating, even when it seems useless to do so.
We always create a new way of educating Cameroonians from all Backgrounds. We are a community university because we believe that every Cameroonian, rich or poor, deserves a good education.
I’d like to assure everyone of you who voted for me that I will keep innovating to ensure that every Cameroonian has access to world class education, and that no Cameroonian I get in contact with, will lose their lives at sea or in the desert in pursuit of a better education someplace else.
I thank all my students, staff, alumni, faculty, friends and everyone else who voted. I’m not the winner. You are! And this for you. Thank you!"
